About Everyday Safety Hacks
Everyday Safety Hacks shares practical, everyday-life safety guidance for travel, home, emergencies, and personal safety — adapted from professional personal-security and hostile-environment awareness training principles, rewritten in plain language for general use.
Who's Behind This
Richard Clarke
Richard spent over two decades advising organisations across Europe, North Africa, and the Americas on keeping people safe in complex and high-risk environments — crisis management, evacuation planning, and hotel, residential, and travel security among them. He's a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) who started his career as an infantry officer in the British Armed Forces, with postings across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, before moving into security and resilience advisory work for organisations operating in some of the more unpredictable corners of the world.
Everyday Safety Hacks takes that same practical thinking — the stuff that actually works, not the stuff that sounds impressive — and applies it to ordinary life: a first flat abroad, a solo trip, a storm rolling in, or just the walk home at night. Richard is bilingual in English and Spanish, with working French and Arabic, and has advised clients in more than a dozen countries.
